This page says what Power of Àṣẹ collects when you use the site and the app, why, who handles it, and what you can ask of us. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.
Who we are
The Power of Àṣẹ runs powerofase.com and its app. Questions about this policy, and every request about your data, go to hello@powerofase.com.
What we collect
- Your account. Your email address, the name you give us, and a password kept only as a hash. If you sign in with Facebook, Google or Apple, that provider gives us your name, your email address and an identifier for your account with them, and nothing else. We never post to those accounts or read your contacts.
- Your membership. Which membership you hold and when it started, so the site can open what your membership includes.
- Your path. The Odù you mark as yours, the practice choices you make, and your streak.
- Your journal. Journal entries are kept in your browser or on your device, not on our servers. Clearing the site’s data in your browser, or deleting the app, removes them. If we ever store journals on our servers, they will be encrypted and this page will say so before that happens.
- Orí conversations. What you write to Orí is sent to Anthropic to generate the reply. We do not keep the conversation on our servers. Anthropic processes it under its commercial terms, which do not allow it to train its models on it.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs with your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, which we use to keep the site working and safe.
- Cookies and browser storage. A cookie keeps you signed in, a cookie remembers your language, and browser storage holds your journal, your path and your preferences. There are no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics on the site today.
Keeping your account secure
You can add a passkey and turn on two-factor sign-in in Settings → Sign-in. We strongly recommend both.
- A passkey signs you in with your face, your fingerprint or your device PIN. It cannot be phished or reused on another site.
- Two-factor sign-in also asks for a code from an authenticator app, so a code sent to your email is not enough on its own.
- Both are optional for members, and you can turn them off. Admin accounts must use two-factor sign-in.
Whether or not you turn them on, you are responsible for keeping your email account, your devices, your passkeys and your backup codes safe: anyone who can read your email can ask for a sign-in code. If you think someone else has used your account, write to hello@powerofase.com straight away.
If you choose not to use a passkey or two-factor sign-in, you accept the extra risk that comes with that choice. To the extent the law allows, the Power of Àṣẹ is not responsible for loss or harm caused by someone signing in to your account because those protections were off, or because your email, your devices or your backup codes were exposed. This does not limit our responsibility for keeping our own systems secure.
Payments
The site does not take payments and never sees a card number. Memberships are arranged with us directly, and the way you pay is agreed with you at that time.
How we use it
- To run the site and the app: to sign you in, open what your membership includes, show your path and answer Orí.
- To reply when you write to us.
- To keep the site safe: to notice abuse, limit misuse, and fix errors.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.
Who handles it for us
These services run parts of the site on our instructions, and each only sees what its part needs:
- Supabase: accounts and the members database until sign-in moves to Neon.
- Neon: the members database and sign-in through Better Auth, from the cutover.
- Vercel: hosting and delivery of the site.
- Anthropic: the replies Orí gives, generated from what you send Orí.
We share personal data with no one else, unless the law requires it.
Signing in with Facebook, Google or Apple
When you choose one of these to sign in, the provider asks you to approve sharing your name and email address with us. We use them to create or open your account and for nothing else. You can remove our app from that provider at any time; your account here then continues with the same email address, or you can ask us to delete it.
Your choices
- See, correct or download what we hold about you: write to hello@powerofase.com.
- Delete your account and data: the steps are on Delete your data.
- Journal entries and preferences live in your browser or on your device; clearing site data or deleting the app removes them yourself.
- If you live somewhere with a data-protection authority, you may also raise a concern with it.
How long we keep it
Account, membership and path data stay while your account exists and are deleted within 30 days of a deletion request. Server logs are kept briefly by our hosting provider and then discarded.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, write to hello@powerofase.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this page
When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes are announced on the site before they take effect.
